Cookies are files created by websites you’ve visited, and your browser’s cache, which helps pages load faster and makes it easier for you to browse the web. These can, however, affect the running of programs and web pages sometimes, so we would always recommend clearing these once in a while to ensure they are running correctly.
Clearing your browser’s cache and cookies means that some website settings, like usernames and passwords, will be deleted and some sites might appear to be a little slower because all of the images have to be loaded again.
To clear your cache, please follow the below steps for the browser you use:
Google Chrome
On your Chrome toolbar, to open the More menu click the Three vertical dots.
Click Clear browsing data.
In the Clear browsing data box, click the Advanced tab.
Select the time range as All time.
Select the checkboxes for Cookies and other site data, Cached images and files, Hosted app data.
Click Delete Data.
📌Note: Some sites may load more slowly on your next visit.
Microsoft Edge
Click the Hub icon then clicks the History icon.
Click Clear all history.
Check the boxes for each item you want to clear then click Clear.
The message All Clear! appears at the top when the data has been erased.
Update and check your browser version
Whilst you are clearing your cache it may be useful to check that your browser is up to date. To do this in any of the above browsers please follow the below steps:
Click on the three-dot menu at the top right of your browser.
Click Help then About.
This auto checks your version and updates if required. If your browser is already up to date, you can see this on the about screen. This is also where you will obtain the browser version number if you need to add this information to your case.
