If the leave approver isn't available and can't review the request, you can escalate a new or existing holiday record following the steps below:
Escalate your own request
To escalate your holiday via self-service, follow the steps below:
Click My Self-Service.
Click Holiday and then click into the holiday record you want to escalate.
Alternatively, you can click Add Holiday.
Click Escalate and select the name from the list.
Click Select or Escalate Again.
The approver's name now shows the name you've selected.
Click Submit.
Escalate an employee's request as a manager
As an admin or manager, to escalate another employee's holiday on their profile, follow the steps below:
Click My Team or Organisation Search and locate the employee's profile.
Click Absence, then click Holiday.
Select the holiday record to escalate
Alternatively, you can click Add Holiday.
Click Escalate, then select the name from the list.
Click Select or Escalate Again.
The approver's name now shows the name you've selected.
Click Submit.
πNote: When employees request a holiday through Self Service, they can escalate the request if the default approver is unavailable. This allows the request to be sent to the approver's line manager.
