Streamlined training hours allocation for shifts
We've introduced a simplified method for allocating training hours directly to employee shifts, eliminating the administrative burden for sites conducting frequent training whilst maintaining accurate time and cost tracking.
Quick training hour assignment
New 'TRN' option added to the Shift Options cog menu.
Direct allocation of training hours without navigating to the training management module.
Visual training indicators on shifts with allocated training time.
Allocating training hours
To allocate training hours, follow the below steps:
Navigate to an employee's rota and locate the relevant shift.
Click the Shift Options cog for the desired shift.
Select the new TRN option from the menu.
In the pop-up window, enter the number of hours dedicated to training.
Click Save to apply the training hours.
Validation and visual feedback
Automatic validation: System prevents training hours from exceeding total shift duration.
Training Icon: Visual indicator appears on shifts with allocated training hours.
Hover details: Hovering over the training icon displays the allocated training hours.
Clear visual cues: Immediate confirmation that training time has been recorded.
Rota stats updates training hours now display separately in the rota statistics
Rota hours: Shows working hours excluding training.
Training hours: Displays dedicated training time separately.
Total Hours: Includes both rota and training hours combined.
Important considerations
Shift modification impact: Deleting or amending a shift automatically removes associated training hours. This ensures:
Training hours never exceed the new shift length.
Users consciously re-evaluate training allocation after shift changes.
Data integrity is maintained across all shift modifications.
Re-entry Required: After any shift modification, training hours must be re-entered if still required.
No Payroll Impact: This feature is for tracking and reporting only - payroll exports remain unchanged.
Reporting enhancements
Updated reports include:
Rota Detailed Report which are accessible from within the rota
Training hours column displays allocated training time.
Training cost calculated as: Training Hours Γ Employee's Hourly Average.
Rota Financial Data Report in Standard Reports
Training hours and costs now visible separately.
Total Hours column remains unaffected.
Visual representation only which has no impact on actual payroll calculations.
Why this change?
Dramatically reduce administration for sites with daily training requirements.
Eliminate the need to navigate between multiple modules.
Provide immediate visual confirmation of training allocation.
Maintain accurate tracking without complex workflows.
Support better visibility of training investment across teams.
