An employee will have the ability to inherit their working pattern from a post when added onto the system however if a change is made to the working pattern on the post, this will not automatically pass down onto existing employee's employment within that post.

πŸ“ŒNote: If you require to change an employee's working pattern, you should make sure this change is made on the employee's employment rather than the post. If you would like to change the post's working pattern, this will be available for all future employees (new or transferred) added into the post.

To change a working pattern on an employment please follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the employee's profile and click on Employment tab.

    • Make sure you select the correct employment.

  2. Select the Working Pattern.

  3. Click the Edit button.

  4. Select an existing template from the Template drop down or add a new working by selecting Add Working Pattern.

  5. Click Save.

The only things that are changed for the employee when you change/update a post are:

  • Absence period schemes.

  • Approvals, reports to and individual approval settings.

  • Cost codes.

  • Holiday entitlements, if the employee is set to inherit from post.

  • Post details, post title, section, subsection etc.

  • Security, roles, employee access and permissions.
