There are maternity or paternity options that are set to not use a wage cost.
Rota wage costs and maternity is about whether maternity or paternity absence should count as a wage cost on the rota.
In our system, this is controlled by the 'Absence Class settings. If the Maternity absence class is set to not use a wage cost, then those maternity days won’t add to the rota wage cost.
A couple of related points:
Recording details in the Maternity, Paternity & Adoption area is just for recording and does not export to Payroll.
If you want maternity to show on holiday reports and export to Payroll like regular leave, add it as leave (Absence → Leave → Add Leave → Maternity Leave).
SMP/OMP tick boxes are informational only and don’t affect pay; payroll setup is handled in Payroll.
Whether or not a wage cost is added to a rota is determined by the absence class settings. This can be found by following the steps below:
Click Configuration then click Settings.
Click Module Settings then click HR.
Click Absence Class.
Within the Absence Class screen there should be an item in the list called Maternity.
