By searching the preferred forename, you can quickly find employees using the name they actually use, rather than their formal first name. The results will still show the employee with their preferred name displayed.
Use cases
This is also useful if you want consistency across the system. For example, when a preferred name is set, it can appear on rotas, so staff are identified by the name they use.
For example:
Someone might go by a nickname e.g., Chris instead of Christoph.
They may use a shortened or alternative version of their name.
They may prefer a different name for dayâtoâday use.
Search employees via preferred name
To search users based on preferred forename field follow the below steps:
Click My team then click Team.
Select Show Advanced Filters.
In the filter field, enter the Preferred Forename.
The system will display employees whose preferred name matches the term you entered.
Users matching the entered term will appear in the results list, with their preferred forename displayed.
