We're pleased to announce the 2.75 release of Access People, delivering enhancements to the annual increment process, Eteach integration improvements, a new mail merge field, and two bug fixes to improve system reliability.
What's new
Improvements to the annual increment process
The annual increment process has been enhanced to support automatic progression through spinal points for employees on enabled Negotiating Bodies. Employees who have been on the same Negotiating Body and spinal point for a year or more will now automatically have a salary change record created ahead of their increment effective date, ready for approval.
Key behaviours
Key behaviours include:
Increment effective dates are set to the first of the configured increment month (for example, 01 September).
Salary change records are created a configurable number of days in advance of the effective date (default: 30 days).
Employees are not incremented beyond the maximum spinal point defined for their grade.
If an employee's Negotiating Body changes within the qualifying period, no increment is generated.
Changes to contract hours alone do not reset the qualifying period â only a change of Negotiating Body or spinal point does.
Salary change records created by this process follow the existing approval workflow via the standard salary change approval process.
Pay scale description available as a mail merge field
A new mail merge field, PayScaleDescription, is now available when creating mail merge templates. This field populates with the descriptive name of the pay scale point that an employee is currently on, providing richer context in documents such as salary review letters.
The existing Scale field (which returns the numeric pay scale point) remains available and is unchanged. Both fields can be used independently or together within the same template.
Post reference displayed when selecting posts in Eteach vacancy wizard
When creating a new vacancy via the Eteach integration, the post reference is now displayed alongside the post name in the Select Post list. This makes it easier to distinguish between posts that share the same name.
The format displayed is: [Post Name] (Post Reference).
For example: Accounts Assistant (42).
đ Note: This behaviour is controlled by a Global Setting, 'Display Post Reference when selecting Posts in Create New Vacancy wizard', which is enabled by default. When the setting is turned off, only the post name is shown.
Bug fixes
Employee termination status now correctly synchronised
Resolved an issue where an employee terminated in Access People was still appearing as active within Access Evo. Employee termination status is now correctly reflected across both systems, preventing discrepancies in employee records.
