You can create a holiday entitlement to set up templates that define how much leave employees can take within each absence period.
These templates let you standardize leave allowances across different roles, you can set specific amounts in days or hours, add length of service increments for employees who earn more leave over time, and ensure everything gets calculated properly based on each person's FTE hours.
Once created, you assign these templates to posts, which then automatically applies the correct entitlement to all employees in those roles. Without a holiday entitlement set up, you'll get errors when trying to add leave for employees.
To create a holiday entitlement, follow the below steps:
Click Configuration then click Settings.
Expand Module Settings then click HR.
Scroll down and click Holiday Entitlement.
A new window appears, which on the right displays all the holiday entitlements currently set up.
Click Add Holiday Entitlement.
Enter a description then use the drop-down and select days or hours.
Add the entitlement required i.e. 28 days.
If holiday entitlement will increase with years worked, select the Length of Service check box.
Click Add Length of Service and enter the Entitlement and the Current Years of Service.
Click Save.
