Change an employee from inactive to active on the system

You can change an employee from inactive to active on the system, so you can control the system's access.

Written by Relu

You would change an employee from inactive to active when you want them to be able to log in and use the HR system again. When someone is marked inactive, their account is effectively disabled.

Reasons to change an employee status

Common situations include:

  • Reactivating a returning employee who previously left but is coming back.

  • Fixing an account that was accidentally deactivated.

  • Allowing access again if they need to log in for example to view payslips or other records.

When the status is switched back to active, the employee can log in normally again.

Change employee from inactive to active

To change an employee from inactive to active, follow the below steps:

  1. Find the employee using the organisation search then open their profile.

  2. Click Inactive in red and it will turn green which means the employee is active.

    • It will turn green, which means the employee is now active again.

There is also an alternative path, if you follow the steps below:

  1. Find the employee using the organisation search then open their profile.

  2. Click Person then click Person.

  3. Toggle Inactive to Active.

📌Note: Once it’s active, they can log in again as long as there aren’t any missing requirements like ID or checks.
