There are several reasons why you would need to change employee contract days.

Reasons to change employee contract days

Most common reasons are the following:

  • Contract change: for example, if someone moves from full‑time to part‑time, you update the number of days they work each week.

  • Correcting a mistake: if the original contract days were entered incorrectly, you’d update them, so the record is accurate.

  • Holiday entitlement: the number of contract days determines whether someone is treated as full‑time or part‑time, which affects how their leave is calculated.

  • Avoiding leave errors: if the contract days don’t match the employee’s working pattern, the system can block leave bookings with an error.

Steps to change employee contract days

You can change an employee's contract days by following the below steps:

  1. Fin the employee using the organisation search then click Payroll.

  2. Click Pay then click Pay History.

  3. Select the top pay line and change the contract days by adding the new figure.
