To update the system for the national insurance contributions changes coming into effect from 6th of April, follow the below steps:

  1. Click Configuration then click Settings.

  2. Expand Payroll Settings then click NI Threshold.

  3. Select Add NI Threshold.

    • You can add this into the system in advance to ensure any new rotas created for the period on or after the start of the date, reflect the correct wage costs.

  4. Enter the new values for both the Threshold and the Percentage changes.

    • The Threshold value will be the weekly amount an employee can earn before the NI starts with the percentage being the total percentage of the wage cost that is likely to be part of the contribution.

  5. Enter an end date.

    • The system automatically applies NI rules to all employees added to the rota who fall within the Threshold and age criteria.
