Create a task within self-service

You can create a task within self-service so you can assign or track something that needs doing.

Written by Relu

You can create a task to manage small actions without needing a full process or workflow.

You can create a task in Self Service when you want to:

  • Ask a colleague or employee to complete something.

  • Send a quick reminder or follow-up.

  • Keep track of actions between staff.

For example:

  • Can you review this document?

  • Please update your training record.

  • Follow up on this request.

When you create a task, you choose the person, add a message, and optionally set a target date. The task then appears in their inbox, and they can mark it as complete once done.

Create a task

To create a task, follow the below steps:

  1. Click Self Service in the main menu then open the Tasks tab.

  2. Click + Add.

  3. Search for the employee you want to send the task to and click Add Person.

  4. Choose the Type of task then add a message explaining what needs to be done.

    • Optional, set a target date if the task has a deadline.

  5. Click Save.

📌Note: Tasks you send appear on the right under Sent to Others; tasks you receive show up on the left under Inbox. To mark a task as complete, click the checkbox or open the task, this removes it from your Inbox.
