Create a friendly URL

As an administrator, you can set up an account up to allow members to login with a username rather than an email address.

To ensure that each user has a unique identity and reduce the administrative burden of password resets, you can set up members with email addresses in Access Evo. Your users can reset their own passwords whenever necessary, verifying who they are by clicking a link in an email.

If any of your employees don't have access to an email account, you can create a friendly URL then set them up with a username.

πŸ“ŒNote: This is useful for some organisations, but it does mean that administrators are able to change users' passwords and, upon setting up a new username, need to set and share a password with the new member before they can login to change it. As organisation IDs must also be unique, there's more for individual members to remember, so we recommend that you use emails wherever possible.

Create a friendly URL in Access Evo

  1. Click Organisation Settings.

  2. Click General.

  3. Click Create a friendly URL.

πŸ“ŒNote: Creating a friendly URL makes it easier for members to sign in. This also enables accounts that don't require a valid email address.

Set up a member with a username in Access Evo

  1. Navigate to the Members area.

  2. Click Add then select Add members using a username.

  3. Enter the following information:

    • First name

    • Last name

    • Unique username

  4. Select the organisation role then click Next.

  5. Set a temporary password for the user then click Next.

  6. To copy and share the details to your clipboard and share them, re-enter the temporary password.

    • You can share these details in whichever way suits you, you don't have to copy this form.

  7. Click Close.
