Posts can be set so that the reference number is automatically generated when a new post is created, it is recommended to make this change in the test system first.
To do this, follow the below steps:
In the Configuration or Admin Menu, click Settings.
Click System Settings and then click Global.
Search for post auto, this will bring up the setting post auto reference. This is set to false by default.
Click on the setting and change it to True. Any newly created posts will now automatically generate the reference number.
📌Note: The format of the reference numbers will be displayed differently, it will include the letter S; this is part of the string within the global setting, they will contain 5 digits and not a continuation of any existing reference numbers.
