Managing an employee's access settings for their post is mainly about keeping permissions aligned with the employeeâs role and protecting sensitive information.
Use cases
Common reasons include:
Limit what they can access: you can restrict sections or areas, so employees only see the information they need for their role. This helps keep sensitive HR data secure.
Match their role or responsibilities: if someone moves to a different post, the new post may have different permissions. Updating the postâs access settings ensures they inherit the correct permissions automatically.
Apply access to everyone in that post: permissions assigned to a post are inherited by all employees assigned to it, so you donât need to update each person individually.
Control visibility of other employees: you can choose whether they have no access, access only to their team, or access to selected parts of the organisation.
