Set employee's primary employment

You can set employee's primary employment when they have more than one employment on the same profile, so you know which role is their main one.

Having set an employee's primary employment is important for:

  • Correct reporting and ordering – if the wrong employment is marked as primary, a terminated role can appear before their current one on their profile or in areas like My Team.

  • System integrations – the primary employment must be set correctly, otherwise it can cause issues when linking systems for example with other Access platforms.

📌Note: If someone has one job it’s automatically the primary, if they have multiple roles, you choose which one is the main employment.

To set the primary employment, follow the below steps:

  1. Find the employee using the organisation search then click Employment.

  2. Select Position on the right-hand side then click Edit next to the Employment section.

  3. Click Save where you see the primary employment check box at the top of the window.
