ā ļøImportant: This is usually caused by another rota being currently open. This rota will need to be closed first, then you will be able to complete the rota days.
If this hasn't fixed your issue, then another thing to check is that all the rota days are closed. You can check this by filtering the dates back a month or even several months on the rota, any rota days that aren't showing with a green tick means that the rota day has re-opened.
š¤Tip: There is a report available named, Open Days Rota Report, which displays the open days. If the report is not available in the system, contact us so the report can be uploaded for the customer.
šNote: Closing the rota day should then allow you to close off the current week. If a rota day is open after it was already completed, it is possible that there was a change made to employee data that is linked to the rota, such as sickness or leave, that triggered the day to re-open.
Check for rota rule blocks
If all prior days are showing as closed but the rota still won't complete, a rota rule may be blocking it. Two common ones to check:
Open sickness: if "Enable Rota Rule for Open Sickness" is turned on, all sickness records must be closed before the rota can be completed.
Pending leave requests: if "Enable Rota Rule for Pending Leave Requests" is turned on, any pending leave within the rota week will block completion.
Clear these blocks first, then try completing the day again.
Check your permissions
If the issue persists, it may be a permissions problem. You need both "Complete days" and "Complete week" permissions to close a rota. If your permissions were recently changed, a batch update will need to be run before the changes take effect ā contact your system administrator to confirm this has been done.
Still can't close the rota day?
If you've worked through all the steps above and the rota day still won't close (including if you're seeing an "Error Thrown by Server" message), this will need investigation by the support team. Raise a case via the Support Portal and include the rota section and the specific date you're trying to close.
