There is a system setting which controls this, the setting is called rota - split salary evenly, what this setting does is distributes the staffing costs over their employee's contract days.
To turn this setting on, follow the below steps:
Click Settings then click System settings.
Click into Global then search for Rota - split salary evenly
Click into Split salary evenly then set the Boolean to False.
