Unable to calculate the hourly rate when creating a new pay record

If you are adding a new pay record for an employee, get an error that says cannot calculate hourly rate, you need to check his pay settings.

This error occurs when an employee who has for hours or shifts worked selected for their pay but has no specific pay rate selected.

You can resolve this, if you follow the below steps:

  1. Find the employee using the organisation search then click Payroll.

  2. Click Pay History then click on the most recent pay line.

  3. Click the Edit button next to the paid line and then select either Hours from Rota, Hours from Timesheet, or Payroll Claims.

  4. Click Done then click Save.
