When adding a new effective date on a negotiating body in order to update payscales, you will get the message Failed to update payscales if the negotiating body does not have a value entered for FTE Hours.
To resolve this, you will need to add the value by following the steps below:
Go to Setup and click on Settings.
Select Module Settings and then Payroll Settings.
Click on Pay Grade and Payscales and then on the title of the negotiating body.
Enter a value in the FTE Hours field and click on Save.
If these steps do not resolve your issue, also check the hourly rate calculation:
Go to Setup and click on Settings.
Click on Calculators.
Click on a calculator (if there is only one, this will be called Payment Standard) and look at the Hourly rate for salaried staff line.
Click on Edit on this line and make the below changes:
all instances of [AnnualSalary] need to be changed to [ActualAnnualSalary]
all instances of [FTEHours] need to be changed to [ContractHours]
Click on Done and then on Save.
